Baking Soda Face and Body Scrub

In the shower, while rinsing off my hair, I noticed that my back felt clean before I even washed it.  Later I researched it and discovered that many people wash with simple items like baking soda or Dr. Bronners (straight or watered down).

I decided to replace my normal St. Ives facial scrub with a baking soda one to see how well it worked.  I discovered it works very well!

I reused an 8 oz. wide mouth jelly jar for the container.

Fill it 3/4ths of the way with baking soda
Add enough water and mix to make a paste.
If desired, add in 10-20 drops of essential oil* and mix well.

Scoop a little out and gently rub all over your face and rinse. A little goes a long way! Use it once or twice a week to exfoliate.  I use it in the shower as an all over scrub.

Normally, my skin becomes super dry and itchy in winter.  So far, it hasn't done this since I started using the baking soda scrub.

*Many essential oils have different uses.  Tea tree oil is anti-bacterial which can be good for those who have acne break outs.  Lavender is good for skin irritations and is calming.   Do a bit or research for your skin type. This is a truly customizable facial scrub.   Even better - it's cheap to make and no junk!
