Updates

It's been a while since I posted anything, so I'll do some quick updates.

My youngest son does not have HAE.  My son - are you ready for this?- is allergic to stress.  No lie.  For whatever reason, my son becomes stressed and his body has a histamine party usually in his facial area. Taking anti-histamines after the fact does not work.  He has to take one before entering any situation that may become stressful, otherwise he starts looking like the elephant man.  He and I also have to continue carrying epi-pens.

My middle son is getting recurring stress fractures at boot camp along with various other illnesses.  He is being sent home after trying for about 6 months to make it through.  This is heartbreaking for him, because he was within a few weeks of graduating.   The Marines' boot camp is 13 weeks long.   He had body parts swelling before he left, so I need to watch him after he gets back.  If he is stilling swelling up, that means both have whatever is causing it.

I fell back into my "junk eating" ways, the lymph nodes under my neck started swelling (a sure sign my immune system is going haywire) then I was hit by the flu which morphed into bronchitis then borderline pneumonia.  I am into the second month of recovering and still have a slight cough.

I have become increasingly concerned with food and gas prices along with the economy along with my own random allergic reactions to unknown causes.  I have found a few, but experiments continue for the rest.    This has included massive "green" moves within the household which incorporated other things like sustainability changes in our lifestyle.

Sandy hit.  A couple of NJ/NY friends lost power for over a week.  One reported waiting a very long time just to get gas.  Another reported that Kerosene ran out her local gas station.  We had trees down and branches all over.  A large branch (from a pine about 50+ feet tall) barely missed one of the cars. I realized how bad off we would be if we had a long term power outage.  My "green" blog is going into the self-sufficient direction now.

I've had a few people, who read all my blogs, ask me to make one and consolidate them all.  I have this one, my "green" one, craft one and a healthy eating one.  I don't know if I want to do that or not.  I'm thinking about it.

That's it for now.  Since my son is coming home, and I don't have his Megaman made, I need to get to work.
